Anytime you become aware of how you are hopelessly broken inside, you are ready to experience real hope. Biblical hope is the fertile soil in which joy grows. When you are aware of your neediness, you become capable of hearing Jesus’s voice when He comes calling for you.
When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
Mark 2:17 NLT
Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
Revelation 3:20 NLT
The same applies to you when you are ready to seek counseling. If you seek, you will find, not because you are a skilled seeker, but only because in seeking you open your heart to the truth. That is the core of successful counseling because it is also the core of genuine emotional healing.
Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8 NLT
Did you notice how these scriptures describe the door as having two sides? Jesus knocks but He also wants us to knock. That’s a relationship.
Are you ready to come knocking on my counseling office door? I will answer so we can seek Jesus together regarding your healing.
