Hi and Welcome!
Thanks for stopping by.
I can schedule an appointment with you on a Monday (9am to 12pm or 5pm to 9pm), Wednesday (5pm to 9pm), or Thursday (9am to 12pm or 5pm to 9pm) in Dayton, Ohio. Or, I can provide online counseling or coaching via phone or video if you can’t make it to my office. You can Register for an Appointment or Send Me a Message.
I provide a warm and encouraging environment for those who are seeking not only to better understand their problems, but who also desire accountability and support as they work through their struggles (past and current) in order to embrace hope and live in freedom. I utilize God’s Word along with various Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy techniques to help facilitate healing and growth. I am open to adapting my approach and utilizing a wide variety of techniques that will enhance the healing and growth that my clients need and are seeking. I consider it both a joy and privilege to come alongside those who need a listening ear, a helping heart, and a guiding voice.
Areas of Special Focus
I specialize in working with teenagers and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harm, family of origin issues, relational issues, boundary issues, spiritual doubts and obsessions, eating disorders, grief, sexual abuse trauma, and sexual addictions.
Areas of Competence
I have treated and diagnosed mental and emotional disorders of college-aged students and have designed curriculum and co-facilitated support groups for those struggling with boundary problems, eating disorders, sexual abuse trauma, and sexuality shame issues. I have also provided therapy for newly married couples, facilitated engagement counseling, and mediated family crises. I have worked with clients who are in crisis situations, clients who have experienced major life changes, and clients who have struggled with long-term mental and emotional issues.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Language Arts Education from Cedarville University and a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from the University of Dayton. I have been married for ten years and have two children. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, trying new recipes, growing my friendships, writing, studying God’s Word, and being outdoors with my family.
